Down 3-2 and coming off a complete-game shutout at the hands of Madison Bumgarner, the Royals found a good time to match their second-largest single-inning output of the season, scoring seven runs off Jake Peavy and Yusmeiro Petit in the second inning of Tuesday’s game. Not only did Kansas City stay alive with a 10-0 victory, but the early outburst allowed the Royals to keep their fearsome bullpen fresh for a winner-take-all Game 7.
